What this policy covers
This policy explains how caninebreeder.co.uk, operated by [COMPANY NAME], uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage and pixels. It reflects the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, whose changes took effect on 5 February 2026, and the Information Commissioner’s guidance on the use of storage and access technologies.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others remember your preferences, measure how the site is used or support advertising. “Session” cookies are deleted when you close your browser; “persistent” cookies stay for a set period.
The four types we use
1. Strictly necessary
These keep the Site working and secure. They do not need your consent. Examples: keeping you logged in, protecting forms against cross-site attacks, remembering your cookie choices, and holding a listing purchase in your basket.
2. Preferences (appearance and functionality)
Under the amended PECR, cookies whose sole purpose is to remember how you want the Site to look or behave can be set without consent, provided we tell you about them and give you a simple way to object. Examples: your saved search radius, map or list view, and light or dark mode. You can switch these off in Cookie settings at any time.
3. Statistics
Since 5 February 2026, cookies used solely to collect statistical information about how a website is used, so the operator can improve it, no longer need consent under PECR. Two conditions apply: we must give you clear information, and we must give you a simple, free way to object.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal from browsers that send it. Browser settings alone are not our only opt-out route; the Cookie settings link always works.
4. Advertising and social media
These cookies track you across websites to build a profile or to show you adverts, and they may be set by third parties. They need your consent under PECR and are off by default. The Information Commissioner’s Office regulates PECR. Since February 2026 it can fine organisations up to £17.5 million or 4% of annual worldwide turnover for breaches of the cookie rules.
